Anita was born and raised in Summerfield, North Carolina.
 
Growing up in the country with plenty of places to investigate, she spent countless hours day-dreaming with her imaginary friends and her dog, Peanut.
 
Her love affair with books became an outlet for all those imaginary friends. And at the age of eight, she entered a writing competition and won first prize. She also scored the highest grade possible at her school for the Writer's Achievement test and was presented with a trophy.
 
Unable to finish her education due to cancer, Anita continues to write in her spare time.
 
She now resides in Reading, England, with her husband, Michael and their three children. (And all her favourite books.)
